Inside Chalet Toit du MondeEnter through the original 17th century doorway flanked by hand-carved stone panels into a snow-white hall of natural book-leaf marble warmed by a ceiling height fireplace.

On the other side of the dual-face fireplace awaits the living room.

Living RoomAn impressive set of hammered iron ancient doors leads into a comfortable living room generously decorated with furs and touches of East and West all elements referencing mountain history. On one wall, a chain motif favoured by the ancient Royal family of Savoie is carved in light relief on marble while from the other side of the world, intricately painted antique Tibetan doors are integrated into the scene.

Classic cocktails or specials with an eastern touch are ready to be served at any time along with a choice of champagne, wine or something warm and wicked.

A hidden Home Cinema system with a giant drop-down HD screen with SKY HD access transforms the living room into your own private movie-theatre or sports arena.

Dining RoomFolding doors with exquisite engraved marble panels open into a chandeliered dining room with hand-carved dining table and chairs, upholstered with luxury designer shearling fur.

The dining room can be curtained off from the James-Bond style red-marble pool which is kept out-of-sight underfloor. With the curtains open, the view of the slopes in daylight is enticing and at night, simply magical. The pool can convert into a softly lit water feature, over which starry lights twinkle and reflect in the water, while stars do their bit in the sky outside over the shimmering snow.

The SuitesThere are four suites in Chalet Toit du Monde to sleep up to 8 guests:

Elbrus Deluxe Suite - 1st floorVinson Massif Deluxe Suite - 1st floorKibo Grand Suite - 2nd/3rd floorsAconcagua Grand Suite - 2nd/3rd floorsAll bedrooms can accommodate twin or double beds. There is also the option to welcome additional guests upon request in the Grand Suites.

All bedroom suites are underfloor heated with independent controls, and include separate sleeping and relaxation areas.

The floor is of Elmwood and the walls are decorated with beautiful back-lit carved wood panels. The exquisitely comfortable hand-made hardwood king size (or twin) beds are enhanced with antique carvings which frame the bevelled mirror features, artfully concealing discreet reading lamps when not in use.The bath and twin vanities are hand-sculpted from individual slabs of marble, with the spacious bath carved out of a solid 800 kilo piece and flanked by marble walls and glass. The marble walls of the bath are adorned with delicately engraved snowflakes, while the floor of each bath is subtly heated.

The bath, of such impressive proportions that it is classified under French building rules as a ‘swimming pool’, also commands a rain shower and converts into a steam room easily seating up to 4 or more persons, with remote-controlled lights.

Each room also features a fur AND leather-covered day bed to lounge on, complete with sunken ice bucket multi-mode sockets. Also included are a mini bar, full length mirrors, bathrobes, room service trays, fur rugs, shelves and drawer with hanging space, and a generous number of angora throws and cushions. A stone-surround metal fireplace with real flames that can be modulated by remote control adds to the ambience in each room. Each suite also offers a security safe, and high-tech comforts such as HD TV, wireless access and electronically-controlled sanitary washlets with heated lavatory seat and multiple choice of sophisticated hygiene functions.

All toiletries are organic products and pillows, duvets and cushions are hypo-allergenic and natural, filled only with silk, organic buckwheat and silkworm extracts. Natural furs and quality leather mingle with artefacts and antiques all of which enjoy charming thematic or sentimental connections. Each suite’s mood lighting is carefully structured to complement furnishings and artwork, which are unique to the individual suite.

Spa Therapy RoomRelax your muscles in the sauna then step next door into a world of tranquility for your spa treatment. A wall of natural candles create a hypnotic glow in the room which is cocooned in a rich covering of gold metal and marble dust-infused paint.

Sauna and Steam RoomsThe chalet is equipped with a Sauna made of Russian fir, in addition to the steam-rooms in all the bedrooms.

Swim-in/Swim-outPartly indoor and partly outdoor, the Pool is a ‘James Bond’ feature, the hidden red marble pool with sophisticated underwater lighting is revealed by a secret moving floor device. Pool depth can be adjusted to suit guest’s requirements (ideal for children) Water temperature is maintained at 33 degrees centigrade.

The pool includes a wave machine for exercise minded guests and a Jacuzzi facility in the outdoor section of the pool for relaxation.

The Pool is available for use at any time but the outdoor section is open until midnight only each day. Swimming in the outdoor section is as close as is possible to swimming on the piste. Privacy is accorded by stone walls and the naked piste on one side of the pool.

Indoor, twinkling overhead lights mirror the stars over the outdoor section.

Cigar RoomThe Cigar Room made of glass and red marble is furnished with deep-red leather and walls to resemble a jewelbox humidor. Sink into the soft seats and ask your host to light up your cigar and offer you a choice of drinks. The room comes complete with humidifier, extractor, and arguably the best seats in the house with undisturbed views of the mountains. Nothing between you and nature except glass to keep you warm.

Ski RoomA dedicated ski room provides a boot cupboard with individual boot heaters; and all the ‘little things’ that make a day’s ski perfect – suntan lotion, munchies, ski-map, bottled water, lip balm. Staff on hand to help get those boots off!
