Walatta
In amongst the jungle and surrounded by green, emerges a single brick entrance, which appears to lead underground. Sleek concrete steps lead the way down to Walatta House, a villa that could be mistaken for James Bond's luxurious tropical hideaway!

Through this unique entrance, stepping down the concrete steps, with immaculately interwoven red brick walls, you will feel as though you have found an undiscovered secret. There is light at the end of the tunnel... out into an open sided and planned living space (you're by no means underground), complete with a breakfast table, separate dining table, L-shape sofa and coffee table garnished with the hand-picked flower of the day. Much like Le Corbusier's Barcelona Pavilion, the décor is sexy and slick with grey, white and black furnishing, blessed with a balanced sprinkle of colour.

The three bedrooms (king size, queen size and twin), all designed to focus and enhance the jungle that surrounds the house, are placed in a line, along the hallway entrance.  French sliding doors allow you to enjoy all the splendours of the garden in air-conditioned comfort.

All three bedrooms have en-suite inside/outside bathrooms, designed with modern materials including polished concrete and bare red brick to compliment the tropical flora, providing privacy and natural light... allowing just enough nature for when it calls!  The Master Suite has a garden view and its own small terrace overlooking the pool.

Beyond the living space, on the opposite wing to the bedrooms, is the air-conditioned TV/study room. A floor to ceiling corner window lights the polished concrete desk and office chair, that looks across to the cosy living space with an L-shaped sofa complete with a sumptuous rug. Mounted on the bare brick wall is the flat screen satellite TV with attached DVD Player.

The roof of this house is flat and turfed, and easily accessible. Bamboo and flora alike rise from various open skylights, blending this unique splendour into its surroundings. With no fencing, the roof garden is an adult only zone and on the far side, steps lead to a viewing platform that makes a perfect spot for sundowners.

Stretching the width of the open sided living space, is the twenty-metre pool that enjoys a south facing view over the Indian Ocean. Surrounding the pool is a crisp lawn, dotted with palm trees providing shade. A wooden sheltered table and chairs on the lawn makes an ideal spot for breakfast. Stepping stones lead passed a reading deck down to the privately accessed beach.
